« SkillSelect website launches »
Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 4:18AM The new SkillSelect website - www.skillselect.gov.au - which is a fundamental part of the new skilled migration system due in July 2012, launched on 28 January.
The Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) have provided information on the site about Expressions of Interest (EoI) - the new first stage in a skilled migration application from July - and the new invitation process. The site also provides guidance on the information and documents you will have to supply when you submit an EoI.
The new website has a new design so doesn't look the same as the other DIAC website. The DIAC are requesting feedback on the new website now so that they can improve the service prior to it going live later this year.
You should note that the website currently only provides information. You will not be able to submit an EoI until 1 July 2012 when the new application system comes into effect.
The DIAC will be publishing more information on the website later in the year, with details on the new visa subclasses expected in April. If you are planning on applying for skilled migration after July it is advised that you check in on the website for the latest news regularly.
